What a wonderful tribute to your grandma. She sounds like a wonderful person. I wish everyone could have a person like that on there side. I just hope my grandchildren can have half that much love for me when my life here is over. Maybe we all can take a lesson on her kindness and non- judgemental love she had for you. The world needs more people like that. We all lose when people like that leave this earth. Thanks for sharing this with us I am so sorry for your loss but i think she is still with you

My grandma
by Vivamus inmy grandma was a remarkable woman, with a sense of humour that could crack me up.
and she had the determination to make everything she started a success.
she never gave up, and fought for everything she hold dear.

Isn't It Ironic
by kelpie ini was reading the post on our standing within the congregation http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=40040&site=3&page=3 and no matter what part of the world we live in, its always the same thing.. it is always the elders kids that get away with murder while the ones that are really trying to do the right thing always get blamed for it.. when i would mention this to my mum she would always reply with, satan has already got them.
he is trying to get you.. if you are getting persecuted.. it means you are doing the right thing.. does that sound strange to anyone other then me?.

that all is so famillar. everything that happens is either Jehovah or Satan. Just once i would have loved someone take the blame. But being raised as an elders kid i can tell you that was not much fun. everything you did was watched everyone was just waiting to juomp on anything they could. it is so sick to think i was caught up in that kind of thinking. once i was with a group of kids in service when my car broke down in front of a pool hall before we could walk to a service station down the street there was already a call to my parents about where our car was and surely we must be in the pool hall. those people are sick you can not be a kid in the org

The Importance of being a Newbie
by johnathanseagull init wasn't that long ago that i was a newbie here and hung on every thread and reply.
in the short time i've been here, many things i've learnt, many attitudes, many opinions, but the one thing i remember most of all is how i was welcomed here.
never ever underestimate how a simple hello can mean to a newbie.. j gull

That is so true although i do not reply much i read and take in as much as i can (time permitting) this is the only time that i feel sane and a real person. That is the biggest crime of the org. they take everything away and leave such a big hole. if it wasn't for this kind of contact many i think could and would be lost. THANKS TO ALL!!!!!

That is about the best letter that anyone could write. I would be to emotional calling people names and stuff. Your letter is so dignified. I just wish there was some way everyone in the congregation could hear what you wrote. Maybe some of them would think and maybe some would feel a little guilty ( well maybe not) Hope this makes you feel better and hope THEY don't break up another family. Sister Grace

Welcome Tanya, If you have just found this site you are in for a great surprise. This site can and will bring back your santity. If took me a long time lurking before i finally joined in. But everything that is said here is so opened and honest. The good and the bad. We all need each other, I think. At least I know I need all the folks here.

Do You Ever "MISS" Being A JW, Elder,...
by minimus ini recently was told by a couple of elders how much they "missed" me since i am no longer an elder.
i got to thinking , "did i miss anything because i'm not an elder?".
i have to say that i really can't think of anything that i truly miss.

i was a plain old jw. was raised that way and i do miss the "old" ways. people did seem to care and encourage. now it's just a back stabbing org with people just waiting to throw you out i miss the good times. but now? NO ! HELL NO !

Judging Others
by larc indo we judge others?
it seems to be we don't judge about things we don't care about.
for example, if you think inter-racial marriages are ok, then you don't judge people in a an inter-racial marriage.

you are so right. we all judge others Maybe that's good maybe not. i know i have been guilty of judging people before. the problem i see though is when people do the judging with meaness and hatefull intentions. when someone is doing things just as bad or worse and then turn around and look down on someone for the same thing that is very wrong. and if those people get away with it then they become "elders" and really hurt people

know the truth, not beleif
by jane53 in"i don't think about when the end will come......i believe it will, like all christians but it is not a place to dwell.
we don't know when...so we just live our lives as believers doing that daily stuff.
you're right, we, as human beings dont know when 'the end' will come.

i believe god gave us the ability to reason and to choose this responsibility for onesself is good for our character. it keeps us growing mentally. when one stops making choices for themselves and gives this over to others they loose something of themselves. The people who put themselves in power and think they have the right to take control over others are so evil , this kind of organization feeds on hatered and meaness that many have. i am very glad people are starting to see just how bad this organization can be

Losing their best--Getting rid of good elders
by VeniceIT inin january of this year, a prominent elder resigned because he was criticized for continuing to talk to an inactive couple, who had been very close friends.
this couple are being gossiped about, as being apostates, although no action has been taken, and no announcement.
he didn't like the scrutiny on himself and his wife, and thought they were wrong to talk to him about this issue, so he resigned.

The only part i find sad about the org losing their best is that so often these people have given their lives up to something so wrong. they thought that the org would be their for them and if they followed Jah "as they said" their lives would be filled with love and happiness. But instead they find such meaness. i have seen this with people i love that is why i think this site is so good and helpful People can learn it's not something they have done wrong. Everyone keep up the good work
